Attractions

Described as Australia's "most liveable city", Brisbane is the capital of Queensland, the Sunshine State. Brisbane is a vibrant but relaxed city with so much to see and do. Many of major attractions are listed below. When you arrive at Tinbilly Travellers we would love to help you plan your stay in Brisbane to ensure you get to most from your time spent here.

Brisbane has bright, sunny days and some balmy nights as it is a subtropical city. It's quite warm in summer and mild in winter and there is really no 'bad' time to visit, though physically most locals prefer the Spring when the city is in full bloom.

Tours operate all year round, if you need to plan ahead and would like to book tours in advance, send us an email and we would are happy to help.

Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens

Only a short bus ride away, the Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens feature a magnificent tropical display dome, a lagoon, Japanese gardens, themed gardens on 52 hectares and the Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium.

Old Government House

Take the opportunity to visit the original home of Queensland's early Governors. Built 1860 to 1862, the house was the home and administrative base for the Governor.
Regarded as one of this city and state's 'most important heritage sites', it is significant both for its past and present residents and because, in early colonial Brisbane, it was one of only two major buildings.

St Johns Cathedral

St John's Anglican Cathedral is a true example of 19th century Gothic-Revival architecture, designed in 1888 by John Loughborough Pearson, and still under construction. The first two stages, 1906 to 1910 and 1964 to 1968, have created a superb gothic building.
